In searching for words of wisdom and guidance to move our collective grief toward meaningful action, I came up nil.

The best I can do right now is express my shame, anger and frustration of and with our countrymen the best way I know how in this moment… empirically with provisional data.

They say hindsight is 20/20, but what was clear to many of us two years ago (that Biden should not run for re-election) is now evidenced by hard data.

Biden dragged Harris down more than Gaza, more than the economy, more than almost any other isolated factor.

59% of voters said they somewhat or strongly disapprove of Biden, with more than 10% of Democrats joining 97% of Republicans in that assessment.

And those numbers were not insignificant in key swing states — backed up by the numbers for other democrats in those statewide elections.

Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin all voted Democratic US Senators into office.
