From ancient times to modern clocks, solar noon reigns supreme
Every spring and fall, we endure two full days of performative griping at work, in school, on the news and on social media about the switch between standard and daylight saving time.
Politicians and the general public have differing opinions on whether we should adopt permanent standard or daylight saving time, but we all seem to be in agreement that switching clocks twice a year needs to become a retired practice.
As a geoscientist, I’m a strong advocate for adopting permanent standard time.
