If you want to go viral for all the (far) right reasons, there’s a simple formula for that.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups Manufactured and performative outrage, particularly about “culture war” issues

  • *¼  cup performative allyship *(optional)

  • 1 cup Strawman.

  • ½ cup Automation

  • A pinch of “BREAKING NEWS” and Hashtag Hijacking

And don’t forget the token racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia other “outrage harvesting” statements

Manufactured and performative outrage:

Reframes “wokeness” as something nefarious attacking cultural staples - think NFL, barbie, Disney.

Manufactured outrage is a potent and insidious tool in the arsenal of those seeking to spread viral disinformation. This tactic involves deliberately generating a sense of anger, indignation, or moral outrage among a target audience by disseminating misleading or false information. The goal is to exploit people's emotions, making them more susceptible to believing and sharing the misinformation, thereby amplifying its reach and impact.
