On Monday, July 17, I awoke to a full voicemail inbox and hundreds of tweets and messages asking me about this tweet:

At first I thought the post was fake.

It’s not.

Ben Wieder, a reporter from the Miami Herald, found my name amongst the 92 staff members listed on the “Ron DeSantis for President” official FEC campaign finance report filed earlier this month.

The backlash was immediate.

I was accused of being “controlled opposition,” a “paid operative,” and “fraud.”

Dave Troy, a supposed disinformation and propaganda expert whom I have long admired, even fell for it - and blocked me on Twitter when I asked him if he was joking.

We’re two weeks away from the end of our fundraising campaign to finish the documentary about how DeSantis went to extreme lengths to punish me for speaking out, and now my name is appearing on campaign finance documents for his failing presidential bid – something I dedicated years of my life trying to stop.

Please help us correct this latest smear, donate to Josh F…
