I'll be leaving for Greece Sunday, where I'll be meeting with international whistleblowers to lobby the United Nations to establish a Whistleblower Protection Office.
Ideally, such an office would assist whistleblowers in expediting the visa process, provide safe harbor and protection, and pursue international charges against offenders whose actions create a multi-national danger.
John Barnett should have had those services. Instead, Boeing was allowed to attack his character, destroy his career, and threaten/intimidate him into permanent silence. John’s suicide note said, “The entire system for protecting whistleblowers is fucked up.”
The National Whistleblower Center is advocating for the creation of such an office within the United States Department of Justice.
