Outrage directed at Just Stop Oil’s demonstration at Stonehenge spread quickly and with few dissenting voices Wednesday.

Using unbleached powdered cornflour, climate action activists colored parts of the historic Stonehenge monument orange to raise awareness of cataclysmic global warming.

The protestors planned the event to go with the solstice celebration at the site this week, which is expected to bring 8,000 visitors. Solstice celebrations at the Stonehenge site and beyond are based on traditional beliefs centered on nature and the natural world.
