A mother's nightmare and blame to go around
For three years, my son has been both terrorized and ignored by authorities who are supposed to protect him.
At 10 years old, he watched an unhinged governor attack his mother on live television. Our world turned upside down. No one was held accountable.
At 11 years old, police stormed our house and pointed guns at him and his baby sister, on orders from the very same governor. No one was held accountable.
When he was 12, he saw police come to our home when we received death threats. “I’m going to kill your whole family,” one said. The FBI investigated, the man admitted to it, but authorities declined to prosecute.
Cyber terrorists published photos of the inside layout of our home taken while we were still living there. Authorities did nothing. Twitter did nothing.
We were regularly doxxed online. Authorities did nothing. Twitter did nothing.
A few months later, Matt Gaetz shared pictures of my son online, refusing to remove them or apologize even after being told that he was mocking a 12-year-old autistic child. Twitter did nothing.
My son begged a judge to issue a restraining order to protect him from the man who took the pictures, who had been following him around, mocking his “low energy” on Facebook. The judge said while he didn’t approve of the propaganda, his mother was running for office so there was “legitimate purpose” in stalking him. The man now works in Matt Gaetz’ congressional office, paid with taxpayer money.
